Need I Say More...

Lois "I'm Not Good At Math" Lerner - the IRS official who was in charge of the IRS' Tax-Exempt Division - will plead the 5th tomorrow at her Congressional investigative hearing tomorrow (not that this investigation will amount to anything of substance anyway, other than to provide a forum for the Republicans to  grandstand boisterously for the benefit of voters).  Here's the report:  LINK

Good luck to you if you think this country can be saved...

  1. Have you ever considered a second passport? If the SHTF, pandemonium will break out all over the country.

  3. It just goes to prove that the acronym that stands for IRS should be " Intentionally Robbing Society ".

  5. But Dave what about Apple, GE, GOOGLE and the other tax dodgers. They say the corporate rate is too high but nobody pays the corporate rate and they are paying less than half of the share they did in 1970 if memory serves me well and it may not. :-)

  6. Times are certainly getting desperate. I sometimes wonder if the country wishes to be saved. Where is the outrage?

Actually, I think the outrage is there but it's coupled with impotence of action. Most feel like the system is completely rigged and there's no changing it.

Not a good combo while the Nero's fiddle.

  7. Every day I feel like I'm on the Titanic. No one believes it's sinking and it's going to be all ok. I have my lifeboat but all freinds and family want to stay onboard because it's nice and comfortable. We all know how this voyage will end. Save yourself, trust your gut. I would rather be rowing in a lifeboat then swiming in fridged water.

  8. Editor of The Progressive Calls For Eric Holder to Resign Over Spying on Press, Occupy Protesters
As the Obama administration faces criticism for the Justice Department’s spying on journalists and the IRS targeting of right-wing organizations, newly released documents show how the FBI, the Department of Homeland Security and local police forces partnered with corporations to spy on Occupy protesters in 2011 and 2012. Detailed in thousands of pages of records from counter terrorism and law enforcement agencies, the spying monitored the activists’ online usage and led to infiltration of their meetings. One document shows an undercover officer was dispatched in Arizona to infiltrate activists organizing protests around the American Legislative Exchange Council (ALEC), the secretive group that helps corporate America propose and draft legislation for states across the country. We’re joined by Matt Rothschild of The Progressive, who tackles the surveillance in his latest article, "Spying on Occupy Activists: How Cops and Homeland Security Help Wall Street."
